The roost tree was empty today. There were no hissy whines near the nest tree, no crows screaming in the treetops.

Instead:
Faded Dogwood flowers.
A pair of Winter Wrens yelling at us from both sides.
Honeybees feeding on Thimbleberry blossoms.
